A few days back, PT Usha sharply reacted to the ongoing wrestlers' protest at Jantar Mantar on the sexual harassment case against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Singh. She called it indisciplined behaviour of the wrestlers to resort to protests instead of reaching out to the authorities.

Her comment got backlash from many people for being insensitive towards the plight of the wrestlers. Now, the athlete visited the protest site to have a chat with the wrestlers and understand their dilemma.

The chief of Indian Olympic Association met with Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and other wrestlers at Jantar Mantar on May 3 to extend her support to the protest.

She stayed at the site for an hour where she had discussions with the wrestlers. On her way out, she was reportedly heckled by the family of the protesters. Usha managed to go past the crowd to leave the venue.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia reportedly said that PT Usha has assured them of taking necessary action to resolve the issue. She also said that she will be there to protest unless the accused is sent to jail. Usha assured the protesting wrestlers that she will stand with the wrestlers to ensure justice. She added her statement on the issue was misinterpreted and she didn't mean to sound insensitive.

The wrestlers have been protesting for 11 days now demanding action against the WFI chief. On Supreme Court's order, the police filed an FIR against Singh, one under the POCSO act as well but the investigation is still on.

Recently Singh said that he will resign if the Bharatiya Janta Party tells him to and if he is affecting the image of the party. Many people have come in support of the wrestlers including politician and cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu who joined them at Jantar Mantar recently.
