Norwegian Handball Team Gets Pink's Support: Three-time Grammy award winner Pink applauded Norway's female beach handball team on social media for refusing to wear bikini bottoms at the European Championships in Bulgaria and offered to pay the fine imposed on them.
Earlier this month, the Norwegian women's beach handball team played against Spain in Bulgaria at the European Beach Handball Championship. They chose to wear shorts instead of bikini bottoms and were fined $1,770 by the European Handball Federation for "improper clothing".
Pink took to her Twitter account and wrote, "I’m VERY proud of the Norwegian female beach handball team FOR PROTESTING THE VERY SEXIST RULES ABOUT THEIR ‘uniform,'"
She added that the European Handball Federation should be fined instead for sexism and told the women's team, " Good on ya ladies, I'll be happy to pay your fines for you. Keep it up."

The team members appreciated the offer made by Pink and thanked her for her support.
A team picture of the players posing in shorts has been going viral on the internet. They have their caption as, "Thank you so much for the support. We really appreciate all the love we have received. You’re the best."
Eirik Sordahl, Norwegian Volleyball Federation president recently said, "In 2021, it shouldn’t even be an issue."
Even Norway's Handball Federation came in support of the players. In a public statement, the federation said, "We are very proud of these girls who are at the European Championships in beach handball. They raised their voice and told us that enough is enough.
“We are the Norwegian Handball Federation and we stand behind you and support you. We will continue to fight to change the international regulations for attire, so that players can play in the clothing they are comfortable with,” they added.
As per reports, Norway's Handball Federation has been seeking change in the uniform rule since 2006. They are going to start a motion on amending the rules.
