Oscars 2021:Priyanka Chopra Starrer The White Tiger Gets Nominated For The Academy Awards

Priyanka Chopra Oscars: Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas and popstar and husband Nick Jonas appeared on The Academy's official Twitter live to announce the nominees of Oscars 2021.

The couple announced that Chopra's recent film The White Tiger has been nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for this year's Oscars.

The White Tiger is a film adapted from Arvind Adiga's book of the same name. The nomination at the Oscars is a celebratory moment for Indian actors as The White Tiger had an all-Indian cast. Priyanka Chopra was the executive producer for the along with Ava DuVerney. The screenplay has been done by Ramin Bahrani.

The film explores the caste divide in India in which Adarsh Gourav plays the lead of Balram Halwai, a driver of a rich man who eventual escapes the life of a servant and becomes a businessman himself. Priyanka Chopra essayed a supporting role of an Indian-American wife of a rich Indian brat.

The film was also nominated for BAFTA awards. The film bagged two nominations, one in the adapted screenplay category and another in the best actors' category. Adarsh Gourav got nominated for the best actor award for his role in the film. Along with White Tiger, Chloe Zhao's Nomadland was also nominated for the best-adapted screenplay at the Academy Awards. Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat was also among the nominees, apart from that One Night In Miami and The Father got nominated for the best-adapted screenplay award.
