Priyanka Chopra Lashes Out At A Media Report For Calling Her Nick Jonas' Wife

Priyanka Chopra lashes out at a media report: Priyanka Chopra a successful actor, author, a producer amongst other work titles is currently promoting her upcoming film in the Matrix franchise The Matrix Resurrections. But a news media report introduced her as "Wife of Nick Jonas..." making the actor furious and taking to her social media handle and lashing out at the report.

The actor Priyanka Chopra posted an Instagram story with snippets of an article that began its report on the actor by first referring to her as the wife of the singer Nick Jonas. She highlighted the paragraphs with a neon coloured arrow and wrote, "Very interesting that I'm promoting one of the most iconic film franchises of all time, and I'm still referenced as "the wife of..." She further added, "Please explain how this still happens to women? Should I add my IDMB link to my bio? (sic)"

The article shared read, "The wife of Nick Jonas shared that the actor was so astute and aware of the room even though he's quiet and reserved. She then added he speaks up when it is needed: 'When it's important. he sets the tone'."

Both the paragraphs talk about the same thing but begin with the same tone of referring to an actor who by herself has set records and won titles across the globe. She married the singer Nick Jonas in December 2018.

The article snippets shared by the actor was published by the Daily Mail and was taken from one of her promotional media presence in New York for her upcoming film The Matrix Resurrections.

This patriarchal tonality of news media organisations has been refurbished time and again. Multiple organisations have referred a woman's success to her husband's. Reimplementing the need to use the husband as an anchor to a woman.
