After We Can Be Heroes ranked number one in kids programming section on Netflix, actor Priyanka Chopra on Tuesday took to Twitter to announce that a sequel for the film is in pipeline.“Heroics Headquarters projection: 44 MILLION FAMILIES will have suited up for WE CAN BE HEROES in its first 4 weeks!! And….BREAKING NEWS: The Heroics are coming back for round two," Chopra tweeted. The superhero flick is directed by Robert Rodriguez.

We Can Be Heroes is a spinoff of Rodriguez’s 2005 film The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, and is projected to be watched by 44 million households in its first 28 days, The Wrap reported. It also stars Pedro Pascal, Taylor Dooley, Sung Kang and Haley Reinhart in key roles.

In the film, the Baywatch actor essays a negative role. Sharing the trailer of the film, Chopra had written, “Power comes in all sizes and it arrives on Christmas Day! These amazing kids have a secret weapon - Teamwork. It brought a different energy on set and is the life of this film. So while you wait for Santa, it’s time to sit back and let these incredible kids show you how to be a HERO! Are you in? We Can Be Heroes, directed by Robert Rodriguez is now coming to Netflix globally this Christmas.”

She recently took to Instagram and share how the film was getting tremendous response from OTT viewers. "What a great way to start New Year’s Eve and end this year. Thank you all for watching #wecanbeheroes and enjoying it!" she wrote in her post.

Last year, Chopra was named among Fortune India’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women. The Indian ambassador to the Toronto International Film Festival this year, Chopra managed to earn 37th rank in the 2020 list. She is also the founder of Purple Pebble Pictures, known to have backed National award-winning film Ventilator, and is also an investor in a woman-friendly dating app. Chopra has also invested in US-based Holberton School, “a project-based alternative to college for coders and software engineers”.

In April, the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador launched an initiative to help students adapt to virtual classrooms in Los Angeles during the lockdown phase. “Education and empowering youth is so important to me,” Chopra said in a video she shared on Instagram.
