Princess Diana Statue: Prince Harry and Prince William made a rare appearance together in London on Thursday at the highly-anticipated unveiling of the Princess Diana statue. On the 60th birthday of Princess of Wales, the royal brothers gave a joint tribute to their mother.
"Today, on what would have been our mother's 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better," they said.
"Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.” -Prince Harry, Prince William
The day marked the first time the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex have been pictured together since the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh in April.

Princess Diana died from the injuries she sustained in a car crash in 1997. She was just 36 when she lost her life in Paris.
Delayed unveiling of the Princess Diana statue
Diana’s statue, which was first announced in January 2017, is designed by British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. Initially, the statue was intended to be unveiled in August, on the 20th anniversary of her death.
However, along with the pandemic, the alleged rift between the royal brothers is rumoured to be the reason behind the delay.
Last year in January, the Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex announced via social media that they have decided to “step back as ‘senior’ members” of the British royal family.
The fall-out of the Royal family
The royal rift intensified after Harry and Meghan disobeyed the rule of strict code of silence usually abided by the Royal family and appeared in various interviews to voice their grievances.
During their two-hour interview, Meghan Markle revealed that Kate Middleton had made her cry on her wedding day.
“I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologized and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing,” Markle said.
Following the controversial interview that aired on March 7, a source revealed to People Magazine that Prince William has grown more protective over his wife after the accusation.
Furthermore, the former Duchess of Sussex made appalling revelations about the royal institution, ranging from allegations of racist remarks against her son Archie to getting ignored when asked for help to deal with suicidal thoughts.
In response to the allegations, Buckingham Palace issued an official statement, stating that the Queen said that the "whole family is saddened" by what her grandson and his family had to go through all this while.
Recently, Prince Harry opened up about his mental health in a docuseries named The Me You Can’t See with Oprah Winfrey. The former royal member said his mother’s sudden death pushed him towards drug and alcohol abuse.
