Mallika Dua lost her father on December 4, Vinod Dua after he had been in the hospital for a while due to illness. The veteran journalist's death brought a flood of tributes on social media from his admirers and people who had personally known him.
President Ram Nath Kovind also extended his condolences on Dua's death. Actor and comedian, Mallika Dua shared it on social media on Saturday. The letter was addressed to her. The President expressed his grief on hearing the news. He praised Vinod Dua for being an excellent journalist.

President Letter To Mallika Dua:
Dua was 67 years old when he passed way earlier this month. He had worked as journalist on Doordarshan and NDTV. The President recalled that the Dua had won the Padma Shri award in 2008 for his journalist works and said that he was known for his writing and analysis. He said that India has lost a notable journalist after the death of Vinod Dua.
Just months before his demise, his wife and died after she lost her battle with COVID-19. Mallika Dua expressed her gratitude in the caption of the post with a folded hands emoji.
The pioneer journalist in broadcast Hindi journalism had recently lost his wife in June this year due to COVID-19. The couple were admitted in the hospital at the same as they both had been infected with the virus. Chinna Dua was a radiologist by profession and was a well-known personality in Delhi social circles and on social media. She used to share her pictures wearing her elaborate collection of sarees.

Vinod Dua's health reportedly started to deteriorate after being released from the hospital and was again admitted in November. His daughter Mallika Dua shared the news of his demise in the evening of December 4. She said, "Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall."
