Pregnant Woman Raped In Bareilly
The woman allegedly went to work on the farm earlier in the day. When she did not return home after being out for so long, her family and husband went out to look for her. The family found the woman on the farm in serious condition and rushed her to a private hospital. The doctors confirmed gang rape and also informed the family that she had miscarried and was in critical condition.
The incident took place on September 13 but the FIR was filed on September 16 by the husband as per the police authorities. However, the husband alleges that he had filed a complaint on September 13 but the police did not pay any attention to the matter. When the survivor's health deteriorated, the husband took her to the district hospital and allegedly sent the complaint by post after which the case was filed on Tuesday. The survivor is reportedly still in critical condition.
Rajkumar Agrawal, Superintendent Of Police (Rural) is in charge of the investigation and one of the accused was caught on Tuesday after the case was filed. The SP ordered an inquiry into the matter and reportedly told that the police is trying to take the statement from the survivor. Such cases are an example that the situation and mindset regarding women's issues and safety still remain the same as they were decades ago and we are only changing calendars every year, not the society.
