Pratyusha Banerjee's Parents Say They Have 'Lost Everything' Fighting Her Case

Pratyusha Banerjee Parents: Late actor Pratyusha Banerjee's parents revealed that they are under tremendous financial strain.

This strain is a result of the economic impact their current legal matter has got them into. Banerjee, a popular television actor reportedly died by suicide in 2016. Her parents, however, accused Rahul Raj Singh, an actor and her then-boyfriend of her death.

The late actor's parents opened up in an interview that the case has drained them completely and they are now forced to live in a single-room house. Her father, Shankar Banerjee told Aaj Tak Hindi that after the accident, it seemed that some terrible storm came and took everything away from them. "We did not have a single penny left with us. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case," he added.

"We are now forced to live in one room. This case took away everything from us," he continued. He also said that they had to depend on loans several times. His wife works at a child-care centre while he is a writer. He stressed that he will not give up on his daughter.

The Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to the accused three months after the actor's death. He claimed that they were planning to get married in Dec 2016. However, Banerjee was 'deeply disturbed and frustrated' because of the constant interference of her parents.

Earlier this year, Raj Singh revealed to the Times of India that he wished to live a happy life. He wanted to overcome his loss and move on with happy memories. "No one wants pain and sadness in life. I'm married for two years but still waiting for the right time to start a family," he said. The actor further said that his parents and wife had a lot of hope in him. They trusted him and supported him in his tough times so he wanted to keep them happy.
