The 23-year-old is in good hands – being treated by renowned Dr Anant Joshi, who has in the past treated cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Dipa, who is from Agartala, rose to fame when she became the first Indian woman gymnast to qualify for the Rio Olympics last year. However, she missed the bronze medal by a whisker. Dipa stood fourth in her pet event of vault at the Rio Games. Earlier, in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Dipa had won the bronze medal.
We wish you a speedy recovery, Dipa!
