Pop star Demi Lovato was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Tuesday following an apparent overdose. According to media reports, she was found unconscious and rushed to a hospital. The 25-year-old singer-actress is now in a stable condition, according to reports.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, one of the representatives for the pop star said that Demi is awake.
The representative said, “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
However, the representative revealed no details about what led to the singer’s hospitalization.
Emergency officials confirmed that they received a call at 11: 22 am, Tuesday. They confirmed that they transported a 25-year-old woman, who lives on Demi Lovato’s block, to the hospital after receiving the call. The Los Angeles police department has confirmed that they responded to the medical emergency. However, they have declined to name the person.

TMZ was the first one to report that the star was found unconscious at her home in Hollywood Hills.
It obtained audio from the emergency call which revealed the pop star was unconscious. It reported that Demi was treated with Narcan, an emergency medication to reverse the effects of suspected opioid and drug overdoses.
In a social media post, Demi’s aunt Kerissa Dunn revealed that the singer is “awake and in stable condition” at a Hollywood hospital. Her aunt asked for prayers and said “we almost lost her today” in reference to the apparent overdose. The post has been deleted now.
Following the news of her condition, stars took to Twitter to send wishes and show support.

Over the years Demi has been open about her struggles with substance abuse. In a 2017 YouTube documentary, “Simply Complicated”, she spoke about years of abuse, eating disorders, and drinking. In the documentary, she revealed that she first started using cocaine when she was 17. She entered rehab at the age of 18 in year 2010. The singer was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Demi has been busy wrapping up her US tour. She was due to play in Atlantic City on Thursday night. The show has been cancelled and new updated will be out soon.
