India leg-spinner Poonam Yadav, who gave a stellar performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2018, has jumped up two places to secure the third spot in the latest ICC women’s T20I rankings in the bowlers’ category.
The very talented Yadav, 26, was the leading wicket-taker in the Women's Asia T20 Cup. She is now standing tall, behind Australian pacer Megan Schutt and New Zealand off-spinner Leigh Kasperek. Kaspere broke into the top five of the list after becoming the leading wicket-taker in the recently-concluded Women’s Asia T20 Cup with seven wickets in six games.
Yadav took seven wickets at an average of 9.14. She is one of the brilliant cricketers of the country according to the latest rankings chart

While playing Asia Cup, Yadav made history by scoring her career-best figures of four off nine balls in the finals. Though The Indian women’s cricket team failed to list the trophy, losing it to Bangladesh by three wickets, Yadav’s remarkable hits earned her fame.
Yadav hails from in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. She made her debut in International cricket in a Women’s Twenty20 in 2013. She had given an outstanding performance in her debut match by picking 3/21 in 4 overs, leading India to win the match.

Meanwhile, in the ICC T20I rankings for batswomen, India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur climbed one place to take the seventh spot after she was named the player of the series. She picked up a stellar 215 runs in six games in the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana is down two places to settle for the ninth spot in the rankings.
