Poonam Pandey Marries Beau Sam Bombay In An Intimate Ceremony

Model-actor Poonam Pandey married her long-time beau, Sam Ahamad Bombay, a 46-year-old film director, recently. The couple shared the news by posting numerous pictures on their respective social media accounts. The two announced their engagement in July this year.

Poonam shared a picture on Instagram wherein she and her husband are dressed in their wedding finery. The bride is seen seated on a chair, decked up in a navy blue embroidered lehenga accessorised with a beautiful  mangtika and kaleere. Sam poses alongside his bride in a colour-coordinated Sherwani. Poonam captioned the picture “Here’s looking forward to seven lifetimes with you.”

Poonam also gave her fans a glimpse of their phera ceremony, captioning the post with just a heart emoji. The candid shot shows Poonam in a lehenga and veil that barely conceals her smile as she stands wrapped in Sam’s arms. Sam’s Instagram account also features a beautiful picture of the couple from their mehendi ceremony. The picture shows Poonam donning a pastel green lehenga and showing off her hennaed hands to the camera. Sam, wearing a black Sherwani, holds champagne as he embraces Poonam from behind in the picture.

Several fans commented their best wishes for the newlyweds and Poonam's wedding post gathered over 1.5 lakh likes on Instagram.

The Run-Up To The Wedding

Back in July, the couple had announced their engagement, too, on social media. Sam had shared a picture where the duo was displaying their rings and captioned it, “We finally did it!” Poonam had replied by commenting “Best feeling” on his post.

The two were also in the news in May when the Marine Drive police booked them for lockdown violation. According to a Hindustan Times report, they were out and about in their BMW, which was eventually seized. The police detained them and registered a case under sections 188 and 269 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the National Disaster Management Act. However, they let them off with a notice later.

Controversy Queen

Time and again, Poonam has been the subject of  many controversies due to her bold statements. Her most notable controversial statement is related to the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Back then, she had pledged to strip naked if the Men in Blue won the trophy. However, she went back on her words when the BCCI did not grant her permission to strip off.
