Malvika Sood, the computer engineer running International English Language Testing System (IELTS) coaching in Moga of Punjab, joined the Indian National Congress(INC) earlier today. She has been running the Sood Charity Foundation along with her brother and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood in memory of their late parents.
Malvika Sood Sachar, the 38-year-old philanthropist, has been given the green flag to contest the election by the Indian National Congress party in Punjab. She will be representing the party in state legislative assembly elections in the coming month.
Malvika Sood Joins INC:
Malvika Sood joined the party earlier today on January 10,2021 in presence of Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi. Congress' state chief Navjot Singh Sidhu described her as "game-changer" for the party in coming election. Sidhu informed the media how happy they were to have the young woman join Congress.
Both the Chief Minister and Party chief visited Sood's home on Monday in Moga district of Punjab. Sidhu called it "very rare" of the two dignitaries going to someone's house to grant them the honour and added "she deserves it".
Adding pictures from of the meetup with Sood siblings in Moga, Sidhu added told the social media how proud they have been to be associated with "greatest philanthropist" of time and have them on board.

Sonu Sood had been quite active during the first and second wave of COVID-19 crisis in India and had been working for the cause of providing medical relief and assisting the poor. The actor has launched emergency helpline and WhatsApp contact to aid people in need, which was appreciated by people throughout the country.
Sonu Sood announced it in the November 2021 that her sister Malvika will join politics and informed how her sister has done lot of "amazing" work in the past.
About The Punjab Election-
As per the announcement by Election Commission of India, Punjab will got to voting in single phase on February 14, 2021 for all the 117 assembly seats in the state. The results will be declared on March 10, 2021.
