The results of PCS 2022 were released on April 8 and among the top 10 candidates that nailed the exam, 8 were women. The feat is an inspiration for women education in India and shows how encouragement and support can help women achieve greater heights.
Women education remains a concerning issue in India and while efforts are being made to encourage people to educate girl children and promote women participation in jobs and higher studies, the progress is still incomplete. Uttar Pradesh is one of the states that has been working rigorously to provide schemes for women empowerment and education. The effect of the administration's efforts was visible when the PCS-2022 results came out on Saturday and women bagged 8 out of the top 10 positions.

PCS 2022 Female Toppers
The top 10 PCS-2022 candidates have 8 female candidates and the top 3 candidates are all women. Agra's Divya Sikarwar grabbed the first position and Lucknow's Pratiksha Pandey came second. Bulandshahar's Namrata Singh was third among the 364 selected candidates. Also, out of 39 candidates selected for the post of sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), 19 are women and there are 110 selected female candidates among the total 364.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath congratulated the toppers and expressed his delight on seeing women passing the exam with flying colours. He reportedly said that this feat will present a new and progressive image of the state. These female toppers will be an inspiration for people to educate their daughters and support them in higher education. They will encourage young women and increase their hopes of working in government jobs.
The PCS examination is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and is a state civil service exam that appoints candidates for positions in the executive branch of UP government. PCS consists of preliminary exam, mains exam and interview round. In 2022, the mains were held in the month of September and October which was qualified by 1072 candidates. The interview round for these candidates was held in February-March and 364 candidates passed the final round.
