Actor Taapsee Pannu came out to support her friend, Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap with an Instagram post amidst the allegations by Payal Ghosh that Kashyap 'forced himself" on her. Pannu took to social media to say, "For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know. In the last 24 hours Telugu actor Payal Ghosh tweeted that Kashyap had forced himself on her and she made an appeal to the Prime Minister to help her in this respect. In response to Payal Ghosh's tweet, the National Commission for Women asked for an official complaint.

She said that #MeToo was a serious movement and that women had taken years to have the opportunity to finally be heard.
