Payal Ghosh Alleges Acid Attack: The actor has claimed that unknown assailants tried to attack her in the Andheri area of ​​Mumbai.

Ghosh said they tried to throw acid at her and shared images of her bandaged arm with her fans. The actor said while she was returning home and was about to sit in her car someone attacked her. She claimed that one of the people also had acid and his face was covered with a mask. The incident happened yesterday.

When she shouted for help the assailants ran away. She claims to be hit on the head but has got no injuries there. She told, "I will go with my brother and file a complaint in the police station."

Earlier Ghosh joined the party Republican Party of India (Athawale) led by Union Minister Ramdas Athawale. Ghosh has worked in the television serial Saath Nibhana Saathiya and was part of the film Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi. 

In September 2020, Ghosh, in an interview alleged of sexual misconduct by director Anurag Kashyap. She had told ANI, “Five years ago I met Anurag Kashyap regarding work. He called me to his house. When I went there, he took me to a separate room and tried to sexually assault me. He forced himself on me.”

The director has denied all allegations on Twitter. He said, “I neither behave like this nor do I ever tolerate this at any price.”

An FIR was filed in the Versova police station against him, under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 342 (wrongful confinement). There were reports of Kashyap being questioned for hours. His lawyer had released an official statement saying the filmmaker was out of the country at the time of the interaction claimed by Ghosh.
