Parveena Aamir Khan: Actor Parveena, who worked with Aamir Khan in the 2001 Oscar-nominated film Lagaan, has been grappling with financial and issues for a while now. She suffered a brain stroke last year and has not been keeping well since then.
She is, however, keen to get back to work. In fact, she reached out to Aamir Khan and told him that she is looking for work as a casting director and not an actor.
In an interview with ETimes, the Pinjar actor said that her family and friends have been supportive in these testing times. She is just looking forward to some financial help till her health improves.
"I want work as a casting director and would request production houses to give me work.”, she revealed. She also shared that some Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar and Sonu Sood have helped her financially. She is now expecting Aamir Khan to give her work who, according to her, doesn't know about her illness yet. She is hopeful that he will help her as he has helped his other co-stars from the movie as well. "All I want to tell him is, mujhe apne office mein kaam de do", she said.
She, however, is clear that she wants to work as a casting director in place of an actor since she has been suffering from arthritis which makes it difficult for her to act. She wants to stay employed as a casting director so that she is able to fend for herself.
Besides Pinjar and Lagaan, she has worked in movies like Kohraam, Laal Salaam, Pinjar, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo and more.
In July this year, reports suggested that veteran TV actor Shagufta Ali was also facing financial issues in life. The 54 year old actor was struggling to get work and was seeking financial help. Read more about it here.
