Actor Parineeti Chopra will be teaming up with director Imtiaz Ali for his upcoming film Chamkila. Chopra will be working with the director for the first time in her career. For the film, the actor had to opt-out of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal.
According to sources, actor Parineeti Chopra always wanted to work with Imtiaz Ali for his cinematic visions. "It is a huge moment for her because she has always wanted to creatively collaborate with the visionary director," a source close to her was reported saying. Reportedly, the actor needs to prep immediately owing to this development. Parineeti Chopra will not be sharing the cinematic screen with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal since its dates are overlapping with that of Imtiaz Ali's next venture. Chamkila is said to be a biopic of a legendary singer from Punjab, Amar Singh Chamkila.
"She won’t be able to shoot for Animal as there is a major overlap of dates between the two films. So, RK (Ranbir Kapoor) and Pari (Parineeti) fans will have to wait a little bit longer for a new project to bring them together on screen," the unnamed source further mentioned. Actors like Ayushmann Khurrana and Ranbir Kapoor were also approached by Imtiaz Ali, however, both denied to play roles in the film.
