Love truly does conquer all. Recently, a Pakistani woman and an Indian man just got engaged. To celebrate their engagement, they decided to pay a tribute to Shah Rukh Khan’s Main Hoon Naa by cutting a cake with “#Project Milaap Begins” written on it. This tribute is a reference to the sentiments behind the movie 'Main Hoon Na.'

Directed by Farah Khan, Main Hoon Na, which was released in 2004, is loved and appreciated even today for spreading a message of love and hope. It featured Sushmita Sen, Shah Rukh Khan, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao and Suniel Shetty in integral roles. In the film, India and Pakistan use a prisoner exchange scheme dubbed "Project Milaap" to defuse the deeply rooted-animosity among the countries.

Mishal, the bride’s sister, posted a snap of the engagement cake on Twitter saying, “my sister just got engaged to her Indian boyfriend so you know we had to address the elephant in the room somehow.” In another tweet she posted, “(if ydk what project Milaap means, please grow up & educate yourself)”, urging her followers to educate themselves with the background of the reference.

Mishal's tweet was shared on February 19. It has generated a lot of response and support from other Twitter users and has over 3000 likes. Many people commented on the post and congratulated the couple. One user commented, “Somewhere in the world is happening all of this and here my parents won't even allow me to make a boyfriend out of caste,” while another user posted, “For someone who does not get it. It is a reference from the film 'Mein Hoon Na.'” Someone suggested, “You guys can also use ‘Aman ki Asha’ (which is not fiction) for the wedding events that’ll follow. You’re welcome and congratulations!” on Twitter. "If their wedding doesn't have the promo night vibe to it, I'll be disappointed.", said a user whereas another said, “How lovely! Congratulations to the new couple and I wish them all the best in life.”

This instance shows us the superficiality of the feudality between the two countries. It is now time to follow the couple’s suit and make “Project Milaap” a reality.
