A cop told Dawn that the murder occurred over a "difference of opinion" on religious beliefs between the three teachers and Safoora Bibi. She was a follower of an Islamic scholar that the other women didn't approve of. Police found the deceased with her throat slashed and lying in a pool of blood outside the madrassa.
