Pak TikToker Statement: A video showing a woman being dragged and assaulted by a mob of people is doing rounds on social media. According to sources, the incident recorded in the video took place with a Pakistani TikToker on 14th August at Pakistan’s Greater Iqbal Park. A case has been registered against them by the Lahore police.
The TikToker has recently opened up about the assault that has terrorised her and her friends.
“We were shooting the clip when a good number of youngsters started teasing me. They were joined by more and more. Seeing the suspects harassing me, the security guard of the Minar-e-Pakistan Park opened the central gate to let her enter to take shelter. When I crossed the gate and entered the park, the suspects came after me. They tore my clothes and molested me. They dragged and tossed me up in the air for fun. They also beat my team members, and used abusive language,” said the girl in an &t=3s">interview.
Post the incident, she went to Lari Adda police station to lodge her complaint.
She also said that her gold ornaments were stolen by those people. They also snatched the mobile phone and identity card of one of her friends. Her ring and earrings were snatched as well. She also stated that she and her friends tired as hard as possible to run away from the mob but they came a cropper in doing so as the crowd was huge.
The police officers handling the case have been ordered to take immediate legal action against all those suspected. DIG Operations Sajid Kiyani said also assured that the accused will be brought within the ambit of the law.
