This decision comes after their top-level management underwent some drastic changes and reshuffling, upon the new CEO regime of Chuck Robbins. Robbins has asked Padmashree to stay on till September in the capacity of a 'strategic advisor role', which she will assume immediately. The company expects to finish the transition of power to the new heads by then, and Warrior is to help making the handover as smooth as possible.

Warrior graced the Forbes World's 100 most powerful women list again this year at Rank 84, and "has led the success of many of our strategic partnerships and will remain with us until September to help finalize some of our key partnerships for the future," reads a blog post by the new CEO.

"I am grateful for the impact she's had on Cisco and her commitment to helping us finalize these important alliances," he added. Robbins also described her as a "Highly respected leader" who has been a "champion internally for innovation, strategic partnerships, investments and mergers and acquisitions".
