Padmashree Warrior in the race for Twitter CEO

Padmashree Warrior could be the new CEO of Twitter as reports suggest she is the latest to join the high profile race. Twitter's CEO headhunting firm has reached out to former Cisco executive Padmasree Warrior and CBS Interative boss Jim Lanzone about running the struggling internet company, according to a Bloomberg report.

She became one of the most celebrated names in Silicon Valley, and made it big in an industry almost entirely dominated by men. Here are five key things you need to know about the stellar leader.

1. She is a native of Vijaywada. Warrior was born Yellepeddi Padmasree, is a former CTO of Cisco Systems and Motorola. She was born in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, where she completed her schooling.

2. Warrier studied at IIT-Delhi. She took up chemical engineering and later completed her postgraduate degree at Cornell University in the US.

3. As of 2014, she is listed as the 71st most powerful woman in the world by Forbes

4. She is also serving as a mentor in the State Department's International Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership

5. Warrior was Cisco's CTO and Strategy Officer but Cisco announced in July that she was leaving the company amid a reorg in which Chuck Robbins took over CEO.
