Oscars 2021 winners: The 93rd Academy Awards are currently underway. This year's Oscar ceremony in Los Angele is full of historic moments, with Chloe Zhao, Minari's Yuh-Jung Youn were among the winners walking away with the prestigious trophies on Monday morning.

Nomadland wins big
Chloe Zhao became the first woman of colour to win the Oscar for Best Director for Nomadland. She's also only the second woman in the history of the Oscar to win the award after The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow. "This is for anyone who has the faith and the courage to hold on to the goodness in each other, no matter how difficult it is to do that. And this is for you, you inspire me to keep going," Zhao expressed her thanks to the cast and crew for their contribution to the film.

Zhao's team also picked up the Oscar for Best Picture. Nomadland has already won the Best Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globe Awards and Best Film honour at the British Academy Film Awards.
Nomadland walked away with three major awards - Best Picture, Best Director for Chloe Zhao and Best Actress for Frances McDormand.

The biggest surprise of the night was that Zhao was announced to be the director for Marvel's The Eternals next.
Yuh-Jung Youn picks up another award
Joining Zhao in the history-making category was Yuh-Jung Youn. She won the Best Supporting Actress award for Minari. Dedicating the win to her kids, the Korean actor in her acceptance speech said, "This is the result, cause Mommy work so hard."
Yuh-Jung Youn also became the first Korean actor to win an Oscar, a year after Parasite became the first Korean film to be honoured at the Academy Awards.
Ann Roth
The biggest congrats to Ann Roth for becoming the oldest woman to win an Oscar she took home the Best Costume Design award for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom also won the award for Best costume design.
