"Let us always remember: when we fight, we win," said Kamala Harris sporting a 'clever' tan suit

Kamala Harris gave a surprise speech on Day 1 of the DNC on August 19, thanking incumbent President Joe Biden for his "lifetime of service". She said, "I want to kick us off by celebrating our incredible president, Joe Biden. Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, for your lifetime of service to our nation. We are forever grateful to you."

The Indo-American leader added, "People from every corner of our country and every walk of life are here and this November we will come together and declare with one voice that we are moving forward. Let us always remember -- when we fight, we win."

Some detail-oriented voters also pointed out Harris' smart choice of wearing a tan-coloured pantsuit. Her supporters believe this was a subtle strike back at Republicans who reportedly trolled and caused a scandal when former President Barack Obama wore a beige suit in 2014 to discuss escalating the US response to Islamic State in Syria.

Tim Walz speaks about fertility treatment

Tim Walz, a former high school teacher and football coach, formally accepted his Vice President nomination. The arena saw placards reading 'Coach Walz' fill up the audience as he took the stage. In his speech, the Minnesota Governor recalled his wife Gwen's experience with undergoing a seven-year assisted reproduction treatment to conceive their daughter, whom they aptly named Hope. "Hope, Gus (son), and Gwen, you are my entire world and I love you,” he expressed, inviting a roar of cheer from the audience. Gus Walz was seen shouting "That's my dad," as he was overwhelmed with emotions.

Joe Biden's emotional exit from the Presidential race

As Joe Biden passed on the baton to Kamala Harris to lead the 2024 election, he made a teary-eyed speech at the DNC. "Like many of you, I gave my heart and soul to this nation,” he said, before the raucous cheer, "Thank you, Joe!" His daughter Ashley introduced Biden as a "typical girl-dad" as she emotionally hugged the incumbent President and wiped his tears.

Biden continued his speech. “Selecting Kamala was the very first decision I made when I became our nominee and it's the best decision I made my whole career,” he said. “She's tough, she's experienced, and she has enormous integrity.”

Michelle Obama rallies against Donald Trump

Former First Lady Michelle Obama artfully took down Donald Trump in her speech, urging voters to look beyond his narrow views. "For years, Donald Trump did everything in his power to try to make people fear us. His limited, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hard-working, highly educated, successful people who happen to be Black," she said.

Trump recently made an invigorating racist comment about "black jobs" to describe the economic threat he claimed was being posed to African Americans by illegal migrants. Obama hit back saying, "I want to know, who’s going to tell him? Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those Black jobs?”

Championing for Kamala Harris, Obama said, "She understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward. We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth... We cannot indulge our anxieties about whether this country will elect someone like Kamala, instead of doing everything we can to get someone like Kamala elected."

"I am the only person stupid enough to speak after Michelle Obama":  Barack Obama's speech wins hearts

Soon after his wife's memorable speech, Barack Obama took the stage and spared no effort in captivating the audience with his eloquence. “I am the only person stupid enough to speak after Michelle Obama," the former President said before he delivered his speech.

Hitting at Donald Trump, he said, "Here’s a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago... It has been a constant stream of gripes and grievances that’s actually been getting worse now that he’s afraid of losing to Kamala.” He also derided Trump's "fixation with childish nicknames and his crazy conspiracy theories and this weird obsession with crowd sizes.”

Doug Emhoff is all set to be the first-ever 'First Gentleman' of the US

Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff introduced an unseen side of 'Momala' to the crowd. The former attorney left his law firm after Harris was elected Vice President. In his lighthearted yet memorable speech. Emhoff compared Harris to a warrior and asserted that she is "as tough as it comes." He said, "Here’s the thing about joyful warriors: They’re still warriors."

Addressing Harris, who was at a Milwaukee rally during Emhoff's speech, he said, "Honey, I love you. I'm so proud of how you're stepping up for all of us." He switched back to speaking to the audience, saying, "That's who she is. Wherever she is needed, however, she is needed Kamala rises to the occasion. She did it for me and our family. Now that the country needs her, she is showing what we already know. She is ready to lead."
