Communal tensions in Haryana's Nuh escalated on November 16 when a group of eight women, en route to a well puja, fell victim to a disturbing incident of stone-pelting, reportedly by children from a nearby mosque. The incident, captured on camera, has led to the filing of an FIR as authorities delve into the details.
Nuh police said that they received footage of reportedly unidentified children throwing stones at the women who were on their way to a kuan (well) puja at around 8.20 PM on Thursday. The Superintendent of Police, Narendra Bijarniya, said that they are investigating the case and that the children will soon be called for questioning.
"People from both communities gathered here in this regard...We appeal to the people to maintain peace. Relevant action will be taken...There has been no big injury," SP Bijarniya told the media, adding that the area has been restored to normal now.

Communal Tensions in Haryana
This unfortunate event adds to the troubled history of communal tensions in the region.Earlier in July, communal clashes erupted in Haryana after six people, including two home guards and a cleric, were killed in communal clashes in Nuh. The clashes began when the Vishva Hindu Parishad's 'Braj Mandal Yatra' was attacked by a mob, following which violence spread to neighboring districts, including Gurugram.

The Yatra was allegedly stopped by a group of young men near Khedla Mod in the Muslim-dominated Nuh district, and stones were pelted and properties were damaged. Protests erupted, blocking roads for hours. The violence reached other districts as well as Delhi, where cars belonging to people from the minority community were damaged.
