malala yousafzai marriage: Activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai took to Twitter to announce the news of her marriage to Asser Malik. The wedding ceremony took place in the city of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

"Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead," Yousafzai said in her tweet.

Yousafzai just revealed the first name of her husband and didn't share any other information. According to social media users, he is Asser Malik, the general manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board's high performance centre, from the city of Lahore. He has also worked as an operational manager for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans. Besides that, he is a graduate in economics and political science from Lahore University of Management Sciences.

She is a Pakistani activist who has been fighting for girls’ education famous for human rights advocacy. She has done extensive work for women and children.

She was shot by a Talibani gunman on October 9, 2012. It was an act of retaliation for her activism. However, she survived the shot and has been living in the United Kingdom since 2013. She pursued her higher education at the University of Oxford. She was also the recipient of Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. This made her the the youngest recipient of the prestigious award.

In 2019, she was honoured as the most famous teenager in the world of the decade. “From a young age, Pakistani student Malala Yousafzai was known for speaking out in favour of the education of girls, and highlighting the atrocities of Taliban,” stated UN News. Read more about it here.
