FM Nirmala Sitharaman to present budget today

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today, as the minister is set to present the Union Budget 2023-24, which is her fifth and the current government’s last full Budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Sitharaman is the sixth minister in independent India to present five consecutive budgets, joining a select league of legends.

Maharashtra woman paraded with garland of shoes for questioning husband's death

A widow was beaten up, her face blackened, and she was paraded with a garland of footwear in a village in the Nashik district of Maharashtra by some women after she doubted the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband, police said on Tuesday.

An official said the victim was recently injured in a road accident, following which her husband dropped her at her parent's place. However, when she was at her parents' house she was told by her in-laws that her husband had died by suicide.

Bengaluru man rapes and murders girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter

A three-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The victim was the child of a single mother, a worker at a garments factory, who has been in a relationship with the accused for over a year. She lived alone with her daughter.

The accused has been arrested, and a case was filed against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Drunk Italian Woman On Flight Attacks Cabin Crew

In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old drunk woman was arrested by the Sahar police after she caused chaos aboard a flight from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai.
The Italian woman, Paola Perruccio was on a Vistara flight when she allegedly punched a cabin crew member and spat on another before stripping and traipsing down the aisle semi-nude.

Pakistan Defence Minister reacts to Peshawar suicide bombing

Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif has strongly reacted to the deadly suicide bombing inside a mosque in Peshawar on Tuesday. The suicide attack left 100 people dead and scores more injured.

Calling for unity in the fight against terrorism, the minister said it was time for Pakistan to set its "house in order," according to Dawn.
