Aarti Hamal, the daughter of Nepal's Dhangadhi city mayor who had allegedly gone missing for two days in Goa's Pernem was found on March 27. The 36-year-old, who goes by Artusha Hamal Dhyan Leela online, is a follower of Osho mediation and has been residing in the Indian State for the past few months. Her father Gopal Hamal, who sought help on X (Twitter) to look for her, reported in a Facebook post that she had been found safely. The mayor wrote, "I would like to inform all the well-wishers that my eldest daughter Aarti has been found safe and sound in Goa due to everyone's search efforts. I would like to express my gratitude to all dignitaries who are helping in the search, including the helpful Nepalese brothers and sisters who live in Goa."
Aarti Hamal had gone missing on the night of March 25 at around 9:30 p.m. near the Ashvem bridge. Taking to social media, Gopal Hamal wrote, "I have received a message from her friend that she has lost contact with Aarti since yesterday (March 25). I humbly request that those who live in Goa assist in the search for my daughter, Aarti." She was found two days later.
Nepalese In Goa Extend Help
Gopal Hamal, the mayor of Nepal's Dhangadhi, posted on X that his daughter residing in Goa had gone missing on March 25. He sought assistance from authorities and the fellow Goa-resident Nepalese community to find her. Two days later, he posted that Aarti Hamal had been located "safe and sound".
Aarti Hamal had been living in Goa for the past few months Ashwem, according to reports. She was a follower of the Osho ashram. After she was reported missing, a massive search operation was launched and the Nepalese community in Goa was also alerted. The woman's sister and brother-in-law had also arrived in India to assist with the search.
Not much is known about how the 36-year-old woman went missing and where she was found. Arzoo Hamal, her younger sister, shared on social media, "Few of them believe that she was taken to a hospital from there in an ambulance as she was found unconscious while the others have been saying that she was taken to the police station." Investigations are underway in the case.
