Badminton ace Saina Nehwal will soon have her own land to build a badminton academy in Haryana state, the government has announced.

This was announced by Sudhir Rajpal, managing director of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC), in Hyderabad on Sunday, when the team was present during a Pravasi Bharti Divas roadshow. HSIIDC, which is in Manesar in Gurgaon district, 45 km from New Delhi, will be providing the land to the international star.

Rajpal also mentioned that providing the land to Nehwal would represent further promotion of sports in the state.

Nehwal's father, Harbir Singh, took the first step by proposing to set up a badminton academy in Haryana. Nehwal hails from Hyderabad and lives there, but her family originally belongs to Haryana.
This new initiative will surely inspire many aspiring badminton stars.
