A very renowned Bhojpuri folk singer named Neha Singh Rathore has been served a notice by the Uttar Pradesh police after she released a satirical song taunting CM Adityanath and his government after their eviction drive in Kanpur. The Singer has given a statement that she will not be browbeaten by any forces.

Folk singer Rathore uploaded a variation of one of her viral songs named 'UP Mein Ka Ba', in which she spoke about the death of 45-year-old Pramila Dixit and her 20-year-old daughter Neha. The duo had died in their hut that was allegedly set on fire by some cops last week. Rathore narrated her entire ordeal to NDTV after she got the notice from the cops regarding her viral song.

- After the song was released the Uttar Pradesh Police showed up at her house on the night of Tuesday, alleging that the song has "created a situation of disharmony and tension" in society. She has been given just three days to respond to a litany of questions by the police about her viral song and its production.
- The notice by the UP Police read, “This song has created a state of enmity and tension in society, and you are legally bound to make your stand clear on this particular issue. So, you are required to file your reply within just three days of receiving this notice and If your reply is not found satisfactory, a proper case will be registered regarding the same as well a proper legal investigation will be carried out,".
- Rathore narrated her ordeal to NDTV and said, “I am just a folk singer, nothing if compared to these big leaders. This is intolerance. The idea is to scare away every voice of dissent or criticism against them and every voice that can cut their votes,". She further added, "I stand by the song I wrote and I will keep on singing regardless of these actions. They had already trolled me so much last time. Why should I stop now? I am not afraid, and I will not be intimidated at all by this. I will speak to my lawyers.”
- Rathore is widely known among the audience for her viral song 'UP Mein Ka Ba' that provoked the Adityanath government ahead of the elections last year, she is also popularly known for her work including satirical pieces taking on other politicians like Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar.

Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “When the popular singer Neha asked fearless questions, the BJP government sent a notice to her house through the hands of the police. Is this because Bharatiya Janata Party is so scared of the voice of a folk singer? Embarrassing. This is very shameful”.
