Singer Neha Bhasin has joined several other women including Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit in accusing Anu Malik of sexual misconduct. Recently on a tweet that Mohapatra had posted apparently exposing music reality TV show Sa Re Ga Ma of ousting her after she accused Anu Malik of sexual harassment, Bhasin quoted the tweet and alleged, “Anu Malik is a predator, I too have run away from his strange moves when I was 21. I didn’t let myself get into a sticky situation beyond him lying on a sofa in front of me talking about my eyes in a studio.”
“I fled lying my mums waiting below. He even msgd and called me after that to which I stopped responding. The point is I went to give him my cd and hope for a chance at a song. He was older and shouldn't have behaved the way he did. @The_AnuMalik is an ugly pervert and I am appalled he is back on TV, its appalling how our industry or our nation is not as forgiving to its women. @SonyTV I don't care for the consequences. The truth is the truth how many ever times they may get away with it,” Bhasin added in another tweet.
I agee with you. We do live in a very sexist world. Anu Malik is a predetor, i too have run away from his strange moves when i was 21. I didn't let myself get into a sticky situation beyond him lying on a sofa in front of me talking about my eyes in a studio. I fleed lying https://t.co/tQgStLrYyT

On October 29, Mohapatra compared her term as a judge with Malik's and wrote, “It takes only a Nirbhaya level tragedy for #India to wake up? Few days after these, I was asked to leave my judge seat. My co-judge told me, the publicity I provided to Anu Malik took up the TRPs of our ‘rival’ show. (?!) A year later, a sexual predator is back on the same seat.” She added pictures of newspaper clippings from last year when she accused Malik of sexual harassment.
She also quoted a tweet posted by Sachin Tendulkar in which he is praising the participants of Indian Idol 11 and said, “Dear Sachin, Are you aware of all the @IndiaMeToo stories of multiple women, some minors who came forward in the public domain about Anu Malik, the judge in this same Indian Idol show last year including their own ex-producer? Does their trauma not matter or touch anyone?”

A Twitter user failed to make a connection between Mohapatra's remarks on Tendulkar's tweet. He tweeted, “How is talent recognition and appreciation from @sachin_rt related to Anu Mallik being accused of whatever? There is thing called 'Context'. I would have called it lame, but this is far from lame and is beyond logic.”
To this, she responded, “Yes, the context is actually missing, for U. A powerful conglomerate like Sony TV is trying to divert the shameful reinstating of a multiple accused sexual offender, Anu Malik as a judge on #IndianIdol by publicising @sachin_rt & @anandmahindra’s praise & riding on their goodwill.”

She also responded to a few others who questioned her stand on the issue. Mohapatra has consistently supported the MeToo movement and spoken against the rehabilitation of the accused persons.
After Mohapatra, several other women like Shweta Pandit, two anonymous women etc. have also alleged Malik of sexually inappropriate behaviour. Singer Alisha Chinai, who has been a co-judge with Malik on Indian Idol 10, also supported the accusers of Malik by saying that she believes every word they said. After the allegations last year, Sony TV dropped Malik from judging the show. However, nine months later in July this year, he has been reinstated in a children reality music show called “Superstar Singers”.
