A Delhi man has been arrested for allegedly killing his two new-born daughters and burying them. Neeraj Solanki allegedly wanted a son and was upset about the birth of twin daughters

In a shocking and heartwrenching incident, a 32-year-old man killed his three-day-old twin daughters because he reportedly wanted a son. Neeraj Solanki buried the two babies in Pooth Kalan village on the outskirts of Delhi. Reports suggest that Solanki starved the infants to die. Police have arrested Solanki for female infanticide and other charges.

As per the reports, DCP (Crime) Amit Goel found out about the incident after receiving a PCR on June 3 which revealed that the caller's brother-in-law killed the infants and buried them. 

How did the police come to know about the crime?

DCP further told the media, "Following this, police were deployed at the cremation ground and permission was taken from concerned SDM for exhuming the corpse of the twins." On June 5, police received permission to exhume the bodies of the infants. The two infants' bodies were exhumed and sent to the mortuary at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri.

On June 6, a post-mortem was conducted on the two babies' bodies and then handed them over to the maternal uncle. The visceral, however, was stored to find the reason behind the death. 

The mother of the infants registered a complaint

Reports suggest that the mother of the two infants registered a complaint against her husband and then the police charged Solanki with murder. The police launched an extensive manhunt to search the absconding accused with a team of 13 police officers. Finally, Solanki was apprehended.

"The team conducted raids at various places in Delhi and Haryana in search of the accused. Incessant efforts of the team paid off and accused Neeraj Solanki was apprehended from Sampla, Rohtak, Haryana," police said. 

Solanki confessed to the crime

During interrogation, Solanki confessed to his crime. He said that he was upset over having girls because he wanted a son. He further added that he brought the two girls to Delhi from Rohtak and then killed them He lied to their mother that the babies died due to an illness. Allegedly, Solanki and his family didn't feed the two girls for an entire night which led to their deaths. 

However, an autopsy has not found the reason for death yet. So the visceral have been preserved for further investigation. Police has arrested Solanki and imposed relevant charges from the law.
