Neemuch constable gangrape: A woman constable, 30, was allegedly gangraped by multiple men in Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch area, reports said Saturday. The accused reportedly made videos of the gruesome act and threatened the survivor as well. Police have booked five persons, including a woman, in the case.
As per a PTI report, the survivor made a complaint in the matter on September 13 following which a probe was initiated. She was earlier in Neemuch and is currently posted in Indore.
The constable became acquainted with the prime accused on Facebook and WhatsApp earlier this year in April and the two had been talking since, a police official said. The accused invited her to a birthday party where three men allegedly gangraped her.
She named the accused, his brother and another man as the perpetrators. A video of the &feature=emb_title">rape crime too was allegedly shot secretly.
Neemuch Constable Gangrape: Accused's Mother Also Involved, Says Complaint
In her complaint, the constable further alleged the prime accused's mother and another relative too were involved in issuing death threats to her and attempted to extort money from her. Police arrested the accused and his mother.
A similar case of alleged rape surfaced from Uttar Pradesh earlier this year in January, when a woman constable from the Gonda district claimed she was sexually assaulted by a male colleague. She was threatened with consequences if she resisted the rape. The accused was absconding at the time and police were in search of him, reports last suggested.
In another, a woman was allegedly gangraped last year October in Hyderabad, after being invited to a friend's party. She told police her drink was laced with drugs, she fell unconscious and was sexually assaulted, with the accused threatening her not to speak of the incident. The matter only came to light when she fell sick and a hospital visit prompted her to narrate the ordeal to her parents. Read here.
