A photo of Manjeet Kaur (62), who visited the Singhu border site on Monday, driving from Patiala to Delhi in a jeep, has gone viral now on social media on National Farmers' Day. Accompanied by other women, Kaur joined the farmers' protest, which has been going on since November 26, against the new farm laws.
The photo was first shared on the Twitter handle of Kisan Ekta Morcha. The caption read as, “62-Year-old Manjeet Kaur, drove from Patiala to #SinghuBorder to join the protest. #FarmersProtest #KisanAandolan (sic).”

December 23 observed as Kisan Diwas or Farmers' Day in India. The picture showing the women are riding along with Kaur in the jeep has now grabbed national spotlight.
Several people came out in support of Kaur. Actress Taapsee Pannu also shared the picture on Twitter with the caption "Chakk de phatte".

Kaur reportedly took five of her companions from Patiala to the Singhu Border to join the farmers' agitation taking place there. Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh, who had visited farmers at Singhu border earlier this month, expressed how amused he was after seeing the elderly woman's resilience.

Calling the act inspiring, Netizens on Twitter are hailing "daring" Kaur and her friends' determination for making such a long distance from Patiala to the Singhu border.

Earlier, the protesting farmer unions urged others to skip one meal on 'Kisan Diwas', the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. On the 28th day of the protest, Live Law reported that Delhi High Court Women Lawyers Forum announced a fast on 23 December in solidarity with the protesting farmers.
