US Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco Home Vandalised With Graffiti & Pig's Head

Democrat Nancy Pelosi's house in San Francisco has reportedly been vandalised with graffiti, garbage bags, and a pig's severed head. The 80-year-old, who is the first-ever female Speaker in the United States House of Representatives, wasn't on-location since she is reportedly in Washington DC currently. Owing to the spray-paint signs that read "cancel rent" and "we want everything," it is being alleged that the vandalism comes in light of the recently passed COVID-19 stimulus checks proposal.

According to CBS San Francisco, the local police claim they received complaints of vandalism at Pelosi's home on Friday around 2:00 am. The site included graffiti on the garage door as well as a pig's head left in a pool of red paint in front of it. Later, black garbage bags were also said to have been deposited in the area.

Background on COVID-19 checks in the US

The US government recently proposed coronavirus relief stimulus checks of $600 to citizens. While the proposal was given a nod by the Democratic opposition, Pelosi and others recommended raising the checks to $2000. President Donald Trump's Republican party has reportedly been trying to block Pelosi's efforts to that end, according to NBC.

According to reports, Pelosi was among those spearheading the cause of $2000 checks in the House of Representatives. The graffiti vandalism on her garage door also reflects a crossed-out "$2K."

Neighbours of Pelosi in San Francisco have strongly criticised the event. One woman was quoted by local media as saying, "I don’t think that this is a useful way to go about it and it’s a terrible start to this new year, when we are hoping for less anger and hatred than we’ve had to deal with for the last year."

Nancy Pelosi is an 80-year-old American Democrat currently serving as a Speaker in the US House of Representatives. The incumbent leader has also been a representative from California since 1987.
