Nagpur gangrape rape: A 16-year-old girl's boyfriend and his three friends have been arrested in the city of Nagpur for the alleged gangrape of the minor. The girl's boyfriend allegedly took money from his friends to let them sexually abuse her.
The incident took place between October 2 and October 7 on the outskirts of Nagpur. The police found the minor in a dubious state at a place with a poor reputation and went on to hand over the girl to her family. However, while speaking to the police, the minor alleged that five to six men had sexually assaulted her and beaten up her boyfriend after catching them in a compromising position behind the Madhav Nagri area outside the city.
According to a report by TOI, during a detailed interrogation, it was finally revealed that a dispute had developed between the girl's boyfriend and his friends over money, after which the minor and her mother reached out to police in order to file a complaint.
This wasn't the first time the minor had been sexually assaulted. Last year too, a case had been registered in connection with the alleged rape of the minor, after which she was sent to a government shelter in November.
In September this year, a 24-year-old woman from the city was in news for performing self-abortion to deliver a stillborn baby. The woman had performed the procedure based on instructions from a YouTube video. She went on to accuse her lover, who was already married and was a father to a boy, of raping her more than 50 times since 2016.
According to the woman, the man would coerce her to have sex on a false pretext of marriage and had also spiked her drinks. When the woman got pregnant, the accused had asked her to abort the baby at home with help of an online video. He then buried the still-born seven-month-old baby at Taj Nagar burial ground in the city. Read more about it here.
