Mysore Student Gangrape: A student was allegedly gangraped and her boyfriend was thrashed on Tuesday. They were taken to the hospital in Mysore. The accused are missing and the statement of the student is yet to be taken.

Mysore Student Gangraped: Here's everything we know of the case
- A couple was visiting the Chamundi Hills in the outskirts of the city. The hills are 13 kilometres off the city of Mysore. They are famous for the Sri Chamundeswari Temple.
- According to reports, the girl had met her boyfriend near the helipad at 7:30 PM on Tuesday after which they were followed by the accused.
- A gang of robbers surrounded the couple and demanded money from them. When the students refused to give money to the gang, they beat up the boyfriend. According to reports, two men gangraped the student while others thrashed the her boyfriend.
- The accused gang members fled the spot and are still missing after almost 24 hours of the incident. The police are still looking for them and there has been no arrest made so far in the case.
- The student was discovered at 1:30 AM and the couple was taken to the hospital. The statement of the student is still awaited.
- The case was registered under Section 376-D of the Indian Penal Code.
- The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai said, " A case has been registered based on her statement. I have instructed the police to take stringent action against the culprits."
- The Home Minister of Karnataka, Araga Jnanendra, said in his statement, " It's an unfortunate incident. An FIR has been registered. We've sent senior officials including ADGP Pratap Reddy to Mysuru. I'm also going to Mysuru tomorrow. We'll take strict action against the culprits." Jnanendra also added that the case must be taken very seriously.
- Dr Chandragupta, Commissioner of Police, Mysuru said, "We have formed teams for the investigation of the case. We can't disclose details related to this case at this point in time."
