Mumbai Saki Naka Rape: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped near Saki Naka in Andheri area in Mumbai. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment where she died of injuries. As per reports, she was stabbed several times with a rod inside her private parts.
According to a report by ANI, a special investigation team has been formed to investigate the case. Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagrale said, "A Special Investigation Team has been formed. CM directed to institute fast track court. Unfortunately, the victim died during treatment this morning & we've converted section 307 to 302. Probe revealed there's only one person involved."

The accused identified as Mohan Chouhan has been arrested in the case. He is to stay in police custody till September 21. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra has said the case will be taken on fast track and the investigation in the case has been directed to speed up.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday this week. The police were informed about a woman lying unconscious in a pool of blood near Saki Naka Khairani road. When the police took the woman to a hospital in Ghatkopar, the doctors reportedly said that the woman was stabbed with a rod multiple times inside her private parts. The woman passed away mid-treatment on Saturday.
Media reports have said that the woman had left her home following arguments. Her mother confirmed that she was a married woman with two children. A CCTV footage was recovered from the area which reportedly showed the accused man assaulting the woman inside a vehicle. The accused was then seen escaping the crime scene. The police also found bloodstains inside the vehicle.
A watchman witnessed the assault and informed the police at 3:30 am on Friday morning. Since the woman could not give her statement before her death, the police have lodged an FIR based on the statements given by the watchman.
