The Word Has Spread in the Ton!

Mumbai Police has once again turned heads and made all the right noises in social media for their very engaging publicity and marketing strategy to make people aware of traffic rules and regulations. With the launch of Bridgerton Season 3 in April 2024 and part 2 in June 2024, it has garnered more than 500 million views on Netflix, quickly becoming the highest grossing show based on viewership. Mumbai Police hopped on this opportunity and saw it as a chance to redeem the image of policemen and traffic laws in front of the public eye by using Bridgerton dialogues and correlating them with  traffic rules and guidelines.

Some of the dialogues read were a picture of a ticket fine with the dialogue "Prayers Prayers Sorrows," a very famous Lady Whistledown line.

Another template had the image of a seat belt and the dialogue read, "I will stand with you between the heavens and the Earth," the famous line of Prince George from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. These innovative ways to use image representation for cinematic dialogues resonated with a mass audience.

Others believe that these gimmicks are necessary and in a good direction of connecting the citizens with the watchdogs of law- the police. Mumbai Police has used its social media presence in an interactive and interesting way to engage and attract people to its post in order to let people know that the police force are not some merciless demons but instead common people with similar interests and comic relief. This opinion has been appreciated by the majority of people and especially youth who believe it or not are the frontrunners of violating laws and traffic guidelines.
