Watch: Mumbai Constable Helps Woman Who Fainted During T20 Victory Parade

A Mumbai Police constable set an example of the dutiful officer when he saved a woman who fainted during the victory parade celebrating India's victory in the T20 World Cup.

A Mumbai Police constable set an example of the dutiful cop when he saved a woman who fainted during the victory parade celebrating team India's victory in the T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue celebrated their victory through an open-bus parade on July 4. It commenced at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) at Nariman Point and ended at Wankhede Stadium covering popular spots of Mumbai. One such spot was Marine Drive where the incident happened. Constable Saeed Salim Pinjari and his group saw the woman losing consciousness and they immediately rushed towards her, picked her up and took her away from the crowd.

As per the reports, Pinjari offered water and chocolate to the woman and stayed beside her until she was conscious. Then, he took her to the ambulance.

11 Injured due to suffocation and dizziness in the crowd 

Reports also suggest that the overcrowding injured 11 people who were taken to the hospital. Mumbai Police had appointed cops from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium with strict security measures to avoid such incidents. 

Mumbai Police has shared a post appreciating Panjari for his swift and dutiful action. The post said, "PC Saeed Salim Pinjari is our real ‘Man Of The Match’ during the #VictoryParade bandobast. His first-person account, of taking care of a sea of people and assisting a woman who was spotted losing consciousness.” The post was embedded with Panjari narrating the entire incident. 

The constable recounting the incident

Pinjari said, "I am Saeed Salim Pinjari. During the bandobast, me and my fellow constable saw a lady losing consciousness. We rushed towards her. We picked her up and took her to a place where she could breathe comfortably. We offered her water and chocolates."

Expressing his pride to be a part of Mumbai Police, Pinjari further said, "Till the time she regained consciousness, we were beside her. We took her to an ambulance. It was God’s blessing and result of our training. God gave me the strength that day to fulfill my duty. I am proud to be a part of Mumbai Police."

In the video, we can clearly see how Panjari saved the unconscious woman from the suffocating crowd. He is seen picking up the woman and trying to find a way out of the overcrowded area.
