Mumbai City's mayor Kishori Pednekar received death threats from an unknown caller on December 22. She started receiving multiple calls from an unknown number while working at Mumbai's Municipality called Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) located at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM). Finally, she picked up the call and put it on speaker mode.
Kishori, according to reports, said that the caller on the other end started using foul language as soon as she answered the call. "I was shocked, never expected that someone can use such language while talking to a woman." The caller also revealed that he was calling from Jamnagar and was planning on killing Pednekar. The people who heard the entire exchange urged the mayor to take up the matter with the police.
She then lodged a complaint at the Azad Maidan police station on 31st December 2020. The cops are now investigating about the caller after recording the statements of the mayor and her colleagues.
This is a developing story.
