Maharashtra's deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar spoke about taking strict action in COVID-19 cases continue to increase. He also warned that people will have to 'pay a heavy price' for taking the ongoing pandemic lightly.
As of now, the Maharashtra government hasn't yet decided on the matter but might impose localised lockdowns in certain places like Chembur. These are the places where the cases are increasing rapidly.
The state of Maharashtra recorded over 4,000 cases, whereas Mumbai witnessed the emergence of over 600 cases on Sunday. However, the state's recovery rate stands at 95.7 per cent, while the recovery rate at 2.5 per cent.
