What happened at the Mrs Sri Lanka contest?
On Sunday, Jurie went on stage where Pushpika de Silva was given the crown of Mrs Sri Lanka and yanked the crown off the winner's head. Jurie alleged that de Silva doesn't deserve to win the competition as she is a divorcee. During the brawl, de Silva suffered head injuries and later she issued a legal notice against Jurie.
As per the rules of the pageant, only married women can participate. Jurie had made serious allegations that could strip the crown away from Pushpika de Silva. an investigation was made. It was proved later that de Silva is actually divorced from her husband but separated. This did not serve as a ground to denounce de Silva's title.
