MP Girls Paraded Naked: After the reports of six minor girls being paraded naked in a village of Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh surfaced, the police have now identified eight accused persons. A criminal case has been filed against eight accused, including six women.
The police said on Friday that the girls were paraded naked allegedly by the booked accused persons as part of a ritual to appease the rain god to bring showers in the area.
The accused persons allegedly made the girls walk naked while they filmed the act on Sunday in Baniya village under the jurisdiction of Jabra police station area. The reported location of the incident is about 50km from the Damoh district police headquarters.
The six accused women and two men have been charges under several sections of Indian Penal Code, the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act ( POCSO) and the Juvenile Justice Act on Thursday night, as per the Damoh Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Teniwar.
The Additional Superintendent of Police of Damoh district, Shiv Kumar Singh has stated that the police is making efforts to arrest the accused persons.
According to reports, the Damoh district's Baniya village and the areas near it are facing a draught like situation and the superstitious locals believe the ritual will please the rain god and bring showers. After the incident came to out the video of the harrowing incident went viral, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) took congisance of the matter and sent a notice to the Damoh district authorities asking for a report of the case within the coming ten days.
The officials said that they are yet to reply to the notice.
