Bride Arrives On A Tractor, Wedding Stereotypes, ideal indian bride
A Bride arrives on a tractor, to her wedding venue, in Betul Madhya Pradesh, and this has taken the internet by surprise. Video of the same has been going viral on the net. But why does this surprise us so much? We see grooms arriving at the wedding venue on horses, jeeps, and bikes, but when roles have reversed, a bride doing the same is suddenly the talk of the town.

What does a society-approved ideal Indian bride look like? To begin with, she is decked in jewellery, eyes on the ground, and her coyness defines her worth. She who cries a lot during bidaai is the 'Adarsh bahu'. But aren't weddings supposed to be fun? Isn't a bride supposed to be free and happy and make lasting memories on her wedding day? Especially in India where a wedding day is considered to be the most special day in any girl's life, by that definition at least, shouldn't she be given the freedom to dress as she wants, enter the venue like she's planned, after all, it's her day.

Bride Arrives On A Tractor: Why Is This Shocking?

This bride in Madhya Pradesh's Betul, Bharti Tagde, is going viral on the internet, as she ditched the norm and decided to arrive to the wedding venue, on a tractor.  The video shows her driving her a tractor, while her brothers stand by her side. The bride, Bharti Tagde is seen wearing black glasses, has managed to break through the societal norms, and what society deems as the appropriate bride behavior. This incident is so unusual that it has taken the netizens by surprise.

More and more brides are ditching the norms and redefining how the bride is expected to act on their wedding day, in their own way. A bride in Haryana's Ambala also made news earlier this year when she arrived on a horse, with a sword in her hand, and went to the groom's house to marry him. Brides are now ditching the ordinary and taking the reigns into their hands, and we are here for it.
