DCW Issues Notice Against Mother For Making “Vulgar” Videos With Minor Son: All About The Case

Mother Son Vulgar Video Case: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued a notice to the Delhi Police taking suo moto cognisance in the case of a woman allegedly making "vulgar" and "obscene" videos with her minor son on Instagram.

The DCW has sought an FIR against the mother. According to the reports, the son, who is aged between 10 and 12, was shown dancing inappropriately and making sexual gestures with her mother in the said videos shared on reels, on a social media account with more than a lakh followers.

After the complaint by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), Instagram has taken down the said video from the account.

Here are 10 things to know about the case:

1. A woman posted videos with her minor son on Instagram, in which, the boy was allegedly seen dancing inappropriately and making sexual gestures with her mother.

2. Following this, the Delhi Commission for Women issued a notice to the Delhi Police seeking an FIR against the mother.

3. After the complaint by DCW, the video was also removed from the social media platform.

4. In the notice sent to the Delhi Police undersigned by chief Swati Maliwal, DCW said that the videos of the woman and the child are obscene and her activities in the videos can be termed as sexual activities with a minor child.

5. The notice further added such actions of the woman cannot be considered as appropriate behaviour of an adult person with a minor child, that too her own.

6. DCW further noticed that in the video that went viral, the child was "made to act and dance indecently by the mother".

7. The woman's commission has demanded the Delhi Police to urgently file an FIR and begin a probe in the case.

8. DCW said that the child who appears to have been sexualised at an early age and is being taught to objectify his own mother can be prone to objectify other women as well as may develop a criminal mentality in the future if not checked today.

9. In the notice DCW has also brought notice to the possibility of the young boy's mental state being affected, and the general "negative impact" that the video could have on its audience.

10. The commission also asked the police for a probe into any other forms of sexual abuse that the boy might have faced.
