A rag-picking mother and her son attempted and cleared the SSC board examination scoring 51.8% and 64% respectively.
It is truly said that it is never late to fulfil our dreams, and when it comes to studies, there is no age to do that. Here is an inspiring story of a waste-picking mother who always wanted to complete her matriculation degree.
Mother And Son Clear SSC Exams
According to a report by The Indian Express about the waste-picking families scoring well in their SSC examinations, one such inspiring story surfaced was of 16-year-old Manthan Ganesh Telange and his mother Monika Ganesh Telange (43) who passed their 10th board examinations together.
The residents of Hadaspar Vasti in Pune, the single mother Monika told how she always wanted to complete her studies and her son's encouragement acted as an impetus to her journey to sit in examinations with her son.
The mother tells how she used to study from the study material that she received on the WhatsApp group of her son's school and how her son tutored her for the examinations. She further told, how she thought she would fail, but her co-workers and supervisors always supported her to give the board examinations.
She says "Being a single mother was very difficult for me, but if I can pass 10th, then who is stopping me from passing 12th?"
While Manthan aspires to become a doctor and will now be preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Monika will be preparing for her 12th and dreams to take up Nursing Course.
This inspiring story of this mother-son duo is an exemplar of hard work and always keep dreaming.
