Mortal Remains Of Soundarya, BS Yediyurappa's Granddaughter Reach Her Farmhouse

Soundarya V Y, doctor and granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was found dead in her Bengaluru apartment on January 28.

According to reports have suspected suicide as she was found by her husband, Neeraj, hanging from the ceiling. The police are also looking for a suicide note possibly left by the deceased woman. Apart from her husband, Soundarya is also survived by her four-month-old child.

Some media reports quoted Karnataka Home Minister Araga Dyanendra who said that Soundarya was suffering from post-partum depression. She lived with her husband and child in vasanthanagar area of Bengaluru and worked at the Ramaiah Hospital. Her husband also works at the same hospital.

The 30-year-old doctor had married her husband two years ago in a grand ceremony. Her death has shocked her family members and the Karnataka BJP. Chief Minister of Karnataka had rushed to hospital to Yediyurappa's family with his cabinet members. According to reports by ANI, Soundarya's mortal remains have been brought to her farmhouse in Bengaluru.

The post mortem reports are still awaited. Reportedly her husband left for work at 8 am and the house help rang the doorbell of the house after that but Soundarya did not answer. She even called Soundarya's cellphone but the latter did not answer.

The house help then called Neeraj who came and entered the house. He reportedly found Soundarya hanging from the ceiling of their bedroom. The police are reportedly suspecting that Soundarya ended her life two hours after her husband left for work. The post mortem of Soundarya's body was performed at Bowring Hospital.

Soundarya was the daughter of Padmavati, BS Yediyurappa's eldest daughter. No statement from the family members has been released so far. The police are still waiting for the post mortem report to ascertain the cause of her death. They have currently filed the case under "unnatural death", according to reports.
